Wolf is WTI’s liquid and dry vinegar and lemon-based product line designed specifically for pet food. These products are naturally-derived and clean label alternatives to chemical preservatives. Wolf products are made with ingredients recognized as “common or usual” by AAFCO, and GRAS approved for use in pet food.
Wolf ingredients are as effective as chemical preservatives in inhibiting the growth of Listeria monocytogenes in pet food items post processing.
Wolf products are shown to be effective in extending shelf-life, primary and secondary (after opening package), by controlling yeast and mold growth.
Wolf ingredients assist with moisture retention in fresh pet food.
Pet food with Wolf ingredients incorporated was preferred 39 to 1 (first-choice ratio) over food with potassium sorbate, according to a pet food palatability study.
